from Delphi 4 to Delphi 2007

Hello,

I wrote last century a Delphi 4 multi user app that worked perfectly up to
now with Win98,
Win 2000 and Windows XP; build around a Paradox like database (...) updated
trough BDE.

It still seems to be reliable, but I get sometimes a BDE error that is
referenced as a bug;
"no disk space available" with very large disks (and plenty of available
space).

I have 2 solutions;
- rewrite the app with php/mysql
- upgrade to a recent Delphi version, but have no idea about what Delphi now
looks like,
no idea about the effort to convert app from delphi 4; is BDE still
available, which Delphi version
is sufficient to keep the same services ad D4 gave me (with a decent price
;-) ).

... and what about D4 and Vista?

Hello again,

I made some investigations;

- bde is now deprecated (since 2002) and replaced by dbexpress
- there is a unofficial patch to fix "insufficient disk space" from CodeGear
