Hi,
I'm desperately trying to work our which version to upgrade to - I don't
want to get the Delphi only Pro version for a couple of hundred $ only to
find I should have got the Enterprise version....
I have downloaded the trial (architect) version, so am not 100% what will be
there when I purchase for real.
A couple of requirements then...

We need to create a small delphi app which will read names and addresses
from our company Sage database (SQL running on a local network MS SQL2005
server) This is purely for creating personal encrypted registration codes
for our 'real' software products.
We don't really use Delphi for databases at all, and would probably never
need the MS SQL connection for any other purpose.

Do you still get the source code to stuff like system.pas ; windows.pas ;
sysutils.pas etc.... ? If so which versions ?

I'm not particularly bothered about C++ or .NET, but imagine it could be
useful at some stage - given the small increase in cost over the Delphi only
versions. If anyone can give me some good reasons to delve into C++ or .NET,
then please do....

So far everything with the trial version looks good - its nice to see that
things are finally looking up for Delphi again.
We are still writing in Delphi 5, and have no current issues - all our apps
even work OK on Vista !
After seeing the troubles of version 8, 2005 etc.. I'm still a bit dubious
about upgrading, but it would be nice to be able to support Vista properly,
and I get the feeling lots of 3rd party components and open source projects
will be going to 2007 as well.

Cheers for your comments in advance..

You get the VCL source with all paid versions.
