I just received my notice to upgrade to Rad Studio 2007. I have Delphi
Win32 with Update 1 installed. I do not want to upgrade to the full Rad
Studio at this time because I do not want to loose compatablility with my
existing components.

Is it possible to just install Release 2 of Delphi Win32 and maintain
backwards compatabilility with my existing components? At this pont I just
want the IDE improvements/fixes. What is the best way to go? I did not see
any option to choose just update 3 on the CodeGear Maintenance Delivery
Portal web page.

Thanks,

Bill

I'm guessing the best way to get an answer to this question is to fill out
a support.codegear.com case, or call your S/A phone number and ask a live
person. You get 3 incidents as part of your contract, and this kind of
"pre-sales/installation support" shouldn't really even count against
those, but it should get you past any "paying for it" hassle.

With some very minor exceptions, your components from Delphi 2007 will
work with RAD Studio 2007 -- in fact, RAD Studio 2007 contains Delphi
2007.

The best way to go is to install the Delphi for Win32 personality in
RAD Studio.

Cool. All of my DelphiWin32 2007 components were automatically installed
with no changes necessary into Rad Studio 2007.
