Hello,

Recently i've upgraded from Delphi 6 to Rad Studio Architect. My product is registered, we bought our license last week.

I used the 'Check for updates' icon, and it detected 2 updates. I clicked to do it, but the program freezes on the 'Validating install' forever, with a 60% cpu usage.

I tried the updated three times with no sucess, same problem in all.

My computer is a Centrino Duo 2 Ghz, 2 GB / Windows Vista Home Edition.

Any ideas will be very appreciated, as i know the is important to keep system up to date.

Thanks.

Start the update before you go home and leave the PC running (you can
lock the workstation, though). The validating install phase takes ages
on Vista, that is a known problem (it took about 3h on a faily new
Vista notebook for me). On XP it's *much* faster. Vista is currently
simply not a suitable development environment IMO.

Peter,

Ok, will do it.

My laptop came with Vista, and i can't downgrade it because lot of components does not provide drivers for XP.

Thanks, i will feedback you tomorrow.

Not on XP. Don't know about Vista, though. Go Google for

"show component captions" site:qc.codegear.com
