(too old to reply)

Hi!

I just moved from Delphi 2006 to Delphi 2007 and of course installed
Update 3 (about 700MB) and the Help Update.

Both Updates asked me what I want to do. I can choose between "Upgrade"
(needs new Serial), "Repair" and so on.

In general on Updates, what is the best choice if you install Delphi and
the updates on a fresh machine?

Thanks!
Lincoln

BTW: Delphi 2007 - Great product, all my Delphi 2006 projects run fine.

I used the update 3 installer to update an existing Delphi 2007. I did
this with the "Upgrade" option.

I also used it for a new installation. I did this with the "Install"
option (IIRC)

Interesting - so the "update" can also be the source of a new
installation on e fresh windows. I did not know that.

Thank you.

In fact "update" does a complete uninstall and a complete install.
Choosing for the install-option just skips the uninstall.
I think, choosing for "Repair" also skips parts of the install.

Yes I think so.
That may be the reason why the installation takes about 1h on my Core2
Duo machine.

Thank you.
