Hi Benedictum,
Post by BenedictumI just ordered Delphi Studio 2007. Does it mean that I will get the most
recent (updated) version?
Should answer: yes, it should.
Long answer: First of all, there is no "Delphi Studio 2007". There is
Delphi 2007 for Win32 or CodeGear RAD Studio 2007. I assume Studio is
the keyword here, so you probably mean CodeGear RAD Studio 2007. That's
the version that has all updates included already.
If you mean Delphi 2007 for Win32, then there are actually two editions
available (apart from the Enterprise/Professional SKU), namely the
original Delphi 2007 for Win32 which was released in the first quarter
of this year. That one needs the updates applied.
There is also a R2 version - Delphi 2007 for Win32 R2 - which was
released at the same time as OodeGear RAD Studio 2007, and which
contains all fixes from the updates, plus Blackfish SQL stuff inside.
Officially, all Delphi 2007 for Win32 purchases from that moment on
would have been Delphi 2007 for Win32 R2. Check your order and/or
invoice to see if the "R2" is mentioned.
If you order an ESD version (Electronic Software Delivery), like I offer
for my clients in BeNeLux, then you will always get the most recent
version. If you order a DVD, then there is a very small chance that you
will get an older DVD that was still in stock with your reseller (but he
should only sell the R2 versions now)...
Just check the dates of the files on the DVD. If they are from March
2007, then you should ask for an R2 version instead...
Groetjes,
